Welcome to the pages of the Department of Sports Orthopedics, Knee and Shoulder Surgery of the Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Unfallklinik Frankfurt am Main.
In the course of the reorientation of the Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Unfallklinik Frankfurt, a Department of "Sports Orthopedics, Knee and Shoulder Surgery" was created in 2005 managed by Dr.med. Alwin Jäger. This rounded off the hospital’s offerings concerning extensive care of patients and their clinical pictures on the one hand and the installation of modern surgical procedures on the other.
Our range of services encompasses the surgical and conservative treatment of all changes in the knee, shoulder and elbow. Both acute injuries suffered on the job, in sports and leisure activities as well as degenerative diseases, are treated according to the most advanced guidelines and knowledge that modern orthopedics can offer.
A special field of activity is the minimally invasive care of injuries. As a qualified center for arthrosopic surgery, we offer a full spectrum of the current possibilities and suitable techniques in the field of musculoskeletal surgery of the knee, shoulder and elbow.
Regardless of the seriousness and extent of the intervention, operations can be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
Thanks to our close collaboration with the in-house Rehabilitation Department and physiotherapists in independent practice, an integral therapy concept is created that includes the establishment of a diagnosis and surgical care all the way to a targeted follow-up treatment suited to the patients’ needs.
